Politics

I recently went to a political rally in Branson for Ron Paul a couple of weeks ago, and it was kind of sad in a way. We live in a country in which anybody and everybody who is somebody has ideas of how to make life better. There must be so much wrong with this country that politicians all have an idea of how to fix it. Candidate Paul said that he didn't feel that the country needed fixing. We just need our liberties protected. We need to have our rights protected. I realized that his platform wasn't a "person" but a movement. He didn't really suggest much of an alternative. He simply stated problems and weaknesses. He kept saying phrases like when he was elected. I was wondering what he thought NOW. I attributed him as being a more intelligent version of Ross Perot.

I am a supporter of Senator McCain. This isn't because he is the most conservative option (lifelong supporter of the elephant here), because he's not. I don't even he is that great of a politician, but the Republican party is in trouble. There really aren't any strong candidates anymore. I believe that Obama is going to win the election easily, and this country is going to a galloping ruin. Maybe Canada will be in decent shape.

Well I'm not really much of a person that gives a crap about politics-shmolitics but that is why there are other people out there that care. That way I can keep living my life not caring.

That's interesting. I have cared about politics for a long time. I started getting interested during the 1992 election. I hated and still hate Bill Clinton. I do have a desire to get involved in politics in the future, but I don't think think I will ever go on the national or even state scene. I am drawn to the local scene.

When you say "...that his platform wasn't a person but a movement." What do you mean by a person but a movement? Who Knows...maybe Canada will be decent!
