The Case of Kevin Hughes: "Cold Case Files"

In March of '93, in Nashville, Tennessee, a man by the name of Kevin Hughes was shot five times, execution-style, in the middle of the street. He lost his life at 10:30 p.m.
Kevin Hughes was an aspiring singer hoping to make it big in the country music industry, and once he realized that the promoters of Cash Box Magazine Company could make his dreams a reality, he just couldn't refuse such an offer. Little did he know, he was about to discover a major fraud, and lose his life not long after. Two such promoters, Chuck Dixon and Richard D' Antonio, made his nightmare a reality. The only problem for detectives was proving that Kevin was killed by "Tony D."
Kevin was believed to have been murdered due to his threat to expose Cash Box for it's true intentions. $$$
All he wanted was to become a professional singer, and look where it got him. The case ended up going cold, but was reopened nine years later. Detectives had previously discovered that another aspiring singer, Steve Daniel, had a very familiar manager, "Tony D." Steve had sold a 38' caliber revolver to "D" , and "D" had fired off several test rounds in Steve's backyard. Detectives searched the yard and unearthed 13 rounds, one belonging to the murder weapon. "D" was arrested and tried, and found guilty of first-degree murder on September 5, 2003. He was sentenced to life in prison.

I think that they convicted the right guy, the stupid arse. "D" for "dumb arse."

I enjoy hearing about true crime not because I am morbid, but because I watching the authorities catch the right guys. I believe that the authorities did catch the right guy this time.
