The Freedom of C. Yardley Chittick

What did students do to get themselves in trouble in 1918? Apparently, a group of students that included C. Yardley Chittick and famous actor Humphrey Bogart, snuck off of the private school campus to watch a fire. According to Chittick's personal diary, the group didn't return back to the private school campus until 3 AM. The kicker, 107 year old C. Yardley Chittick of Concord, New Hampshire is being pardoned by the school for his involvement in the hijinks now.

Mr. Chittick, who still makes his own breakfasts and lunches and also stills goes to his afternoon tea, appeared at the latest graduation of the school. It was there that he had his charges officially pardoned as read by the current head of school, Barbara Chase. Well, I guess it is better now than never.
